Failure and Hypocrisy
Novak attacks school district again to cover up HIS responsibilities

One year later and there is NO IMPROVEMENT to the tennis courts on Lower Shore Road. It is a total embarrassment that this recreational resource has continued to be in this condition. DowntownBarnegat.com made that a point of our 10 quality of life questions that Committeeman Novak was unable to answer last year. Novak's failure to address the people of Barnegat's need for recreation is overshadowed by the incredible hypocrisy of attacking our childrens' school district demanding use of the High School tennis courts while the tennis courts that are HIS RESPONSIBILITY continue to look like this and are totally unusable to the taxpayer.

The people of Barnegat deserve better. What are our tax dollars going to? These pictures clearly show Barnegat Township's failure in providing recreation to its residents. Why didn't Committeeman Novak address this issue? He ran away from it when he was asked to help last year. These courts are his responsibility. So what did he do? Nothing. Instead he threw up a smoke screen and blamed someone else. In this case it's the school district again. Leaders take responsibility. This is not leadership.

As proud citizens of this great country we live in, it is the PEOPLE who must stand up and hold our leaders accountable when they cowardly run from issues and throw up smoke screens. Unfortunately for all of us, this is yet another time that our needs were blatantly ignored by an un-responsive Township Committee. This may be acceptable to some, but it is not to us. Look at the these pictures and then look at question number 9 that DowntownBarnegat.com asked LAST YEAR. At some point, we hope Committeeman Novak has the courage to take responsibility for his actions - or in this case lack of action - and stop blaming others.

QUESTION 9:
Following the removal of our garbage cans from the township tennis court, this recreational resource has become available again. What should we do with it?

Novak: (Mr. Novak chose not to answer this question).

Ryan: The tennis courts should be resurfaced and be available for the intended purpose. Not used for parking!
