Local Jokers Sought For One Night Stand-Up At Stac's Oceanfirst Theater

STAFFORD - Calling all real-life comedians and comedic teams - father/son, mother/daughter, brother/sister and the like - we want you to help us end the summer laughing. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at 6:00 PM at the Stafford Township Arts Center's OceanFirst Theater in Manahawkin.

Each talent or talented team is asked to prepare a five-minute snapshot of their funniest material to share at the audition. Vulgar language and imagery should not be included in order to promote full-family entertainment. A select number of individuals and/or acts will be chosen to appear on the OceanFirst Theater stage on Friday, August 22, 2008 at 7:30 PM. This is a non-paying engagement, but cash prizes will be awarded to first, second and third-place jokers at the end of the evening on August 22nd. A special surprise judging team is being assembled to help us label one lucky winner as Ocean County's Funniest Community Comic. Tickets to the August 22nd program are on sale now for $5. Call 609-489-8600 today. Tickets may also be purchased online 24 hours a day at www.njstac.com. The Stafford Township Arts Center's OceanFirst Theater is located at 1000 McKinley Avenue in Manahawkin, New Jersey, Garden State Parkway Exit 63, just off of Doc Cramer Boulevard and McKinley Avenue.

The programming of the Stafford Township Arts Center and the OceanFirst Theater, as well as the annual Young at Art Show, the Stafford Hall of Fame, and Stafford Child Care Services (Preschool, Extended Day, Get Lean, Summer Camp and Summer Enrichment Programs) are mission-driven endeavors of the Stafford Township Education Foundation. The Stafford Township Education Foundation is a non-profit organization committed to establishing life-long educational opportunities for children and adults thereby empowering them to achieve their full potential. These and other programs of the Stafford Township Education Foundation rely on admission fees and generous contributions from the community.
