Shane Herring Makes History!
Shane Herring has become the first wrestler in Barnegat High School to win a District medal and qualify for the Region 6 Tournament. Herring, a Sophomore, will compete Tuesday night in the Region 6 Tournament in Toms River's Ritacco Center, after taking 3rd place in the District 24 Tournament this Saturday, 2/23. Herring has a very impressive 21-5 record this year as a stand out for the Bengals wrestling squad.
All of Barnegat -- and especially the Herring family -- have much to be proud of. Shane is not only an outstanding athlete, but a great young man. When good kids like Shane do great things, it is very special! Congratulations to Shane Herring. His name is now in the history books, and Barnegat has the right to be very proud!
