Barnegat: A Town Divided
Will Sleaze and Lies Determine Who Will Run Our Town?

While election results have not yet been certified, it seems that hope for a better Barnegat may be gone. Barnegat may never heal from the ugly campaign run by Republican candidates Melchiondo, Cirulli & Novak. Their actions not only dishonored themselves, but brought shame upon all good, moral people in Barnegat.

We feel that many of the voters were simply mis-informed and did not have access to the truth regarding the issues in this election. The newspapers fell short on their obligation to explain the truth. Instead, the media was used by the people in power for public relations and propaganda. These 3 men were afraid to debate the issues in any forum in our town -- outside of the adult communities. It is this tactic that divides this town, and they are responsible for creating this divisive atmosphere. We hope they can find the dignity to start repairing this damage. We will do all we can to help our town by providing whomever is the certified winner of this election an outlet (this website) to discuss the issues that should have been addressed prior to the election.

Things were politicized and lines were crossed that we should examine and never forget. We will do our best to keep the focus on the truth and raise awareness on several key issues. We do want to congratulate the Democratic and Independent candidates for running honorable campaigns, and not stooping to the depths of personal attacks and hate that their opponents did. Although they probably could have brought up some hateful personal shortcomings regarding their opponents, they showed a restraint that is admirable.

To win at any cost is not a true victory for anyone. Our town was damaged and we hope we can come together as a community and start repairing the damage that was done.

We have so much more to say, and believe us -- we will. We are proud that this website is one of the only places where truthful & honest discussions can take place. As always we encourage everyone to participate...that includes our newly elected leaders -- whoever they may be.
