Hartman/Novrit Scandal Comments Censored

The Asbury Park Press website - APP.com - has taken down ET's Barnegat Blog stating "This community member's page is currently being reviewed by the editors." After a posting on the ET blog discussing the Hartman/Novrit Scandal, that particular posting was quickly taken off the APP.com website. Then shortly after another ET post about accountability for an officially un-reported case of MRSA in the Barnegat School District, ET's entire blog was taken down. This is censorship of the worst kind by an organization that should know better -- The Asbury Park Press. The people of Barnegat have the right to hear what our fellow residents have to say. The APP should be a defender of First Ammendment Rights, and let all viewpoints be heard.

The Hartman/Novrit Scandal must have hit a nerve and it appears that voices are being silenced before this all-important November election. The ET Blog is made up of several Barnegat residents who are anonymous...exactly like the readers who can freely comment on every story written on the APP.com website and do so every day. The blog is very well done, informative, and entertaining. Most importantly, ET bluntly states facts that you will not find in the newspaper.

The people of Barnegat are tired of reading news stories that are obviously written off of Twp. press releases. To be truly informed, we must seek out balance and the ET Blog is a good place to look. Readers can read past ET blogs at the BarnegatPress.com website and judge for themselves. In the meantime, we will follow developments and also join the people of Barnegat in asking the APP to give us back our ET.
